The National Report Card

This exercise, which is completely web based, commences with communities’ completing and submitting an on-line survey. We then tabulate the information they provide and create a national profile of engagement and commitment.

As well as this national portrait, Safe Communities Canada also prepares individual report cards for each community so that they can see how their organization ranks in comparison both to this national profile, and to their standing last year. The credibility of both The National Report Card and the Community Report Cards is enhanced by the Question by Question Response which provides, community by community and question by question, all the information about the network of Canadian Safe Communities we gathered in the survey in 2009.

The National Report Card is now an annual requirement for all designated members of Safe Communities Canada and the next survey, covering the period: April 1, 2009--March 31, 2010 will take place between May 31 and June 14, 2010.

We tabulate the results of the survey over the summer, and release the second National Report Card on Safe Communities Day. The fourth annual Safe Communities Day will take place on Wednesday October 6, 2010.
